Summer Strategy Intern- Growth & Operations
Company Overview
At Roon, our work began on the patient side. Our team has shipped apps for more than 40 health conditions serving millions of people worldwide. This experience showed us how powerful the right digital tools can be for improving care. It also revealed how much physicians need better support in their own workflows and professional lives.
Roon is now building the digital home for physicians - a trusted community platform where doctors connect, collaborate, and advance clinical knowledge together.
Our team combines deep expertise in tech and health with support from world-class investors including Firstmark, Forerunner, Sequoia, TMV, and SV Angel.
Role Description
This summer, we’re looking for a highly organized, proactive summer intern to support projects across growth and community operations. This is an ideal role for someone interested in healthcare, public health, startups, operations, and growth.
You won’t just observe how a startup operates — you’ll actively help shape how we scale. Interns at Roon work directly with leadership on meaningful projects that touch physician growth, operational systems, product launches, and experimentation.
You’ll also get hands-on experience building and tinkering with AI agents and agentic workflows, learning how AI can be used to run growth and operational experiments, automate workflows, and help small teams move with extraordinary leverage.
Traits We Admire
Boundless Curiosity
You love to learn. You have a thirst for knowledge and constantly seek to expand your understanding of the world. Your curiosity spans a wide range of topics, with a special passion for all things at the intersection of healthcare and technology.
Genuine Care
You bring authentic care to everything you do, valuing each individual’s unique journey. You understand the profound impact that empathy and thoughtful attention can have on people’s lives.
Joyful Excellence
Striving for excellence in your craft fuels you. You hold a high bar for yourself and what you work on but do so in a way that inspires others and brings joy to the process.
Original Thinking
You dig beneath the surface, setting aside trendy thinking to arrive at insights and perspectives rooted in first principles. Your approach brings new, creative perspectives to solving problems.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities:
Supporting our community growth strategy, including physician outreach and onboarding across medical specialties
Coordinating product and program launches across go-to-market, product, and engineering teams, including managing workflows and operational systems to keep things moving
Proposing and running growth experiments, reporting learnings back to the team on a weekly basis
Experimenting with AI-native tooling and agentic workflows to improve operational efficiency and scale internal processes
Helping build lightweight automations, internal tools, and AI-assisted systems across growth and operations functions
Who You Are:
We expect many strong candidates will come from MBA, MPH, or similar graduate programs with interests spanning healthcare, operations, and technology. That said, we are equally excited about ambitious undergraduates or recent graduates who are exceptional builders, operators, or self-directed learners.
0– years of professional experience, inclusive of prior internships. Our team brings together diverse backgrounds spanning healthcare, technology, and business — you ideally bring depth one of these areas
Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where priorities shift and ambiguity is the norm
A self-starter who takes ownership of projects and leads with initiatives
Fluent in AI-native tools, including Claude CoWork and Claude Code with genuine curiosity and willingness to adopt new AI workflows
Familiar with our growth and marketing tech stack or similar tools (Airtable, Customer.io, Figma, Notion, Google Suite)
