The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own the architecture, development, and optimization of our backend services and cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for scalability, reliability, and security, ensuring that our systems can support a growing user base with low-latency, high-performance solutions.

This role requires strong expertise in .NET Core, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS), DevOps, and API development. You will work closely with our AI, product, and engineering teams to bring robust, scalable backend solutions to life.

What You’ll Do

• Architect & Build Scalable Backend Systems – Design and implement high-performance .NET Core applications and APIs.
• Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps – Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
• API Development & Optimization – Build and optimize RESTful and real-time APIs using .NET, SignalR, HTTP streaming, and WebSockets.
• Database Management – Optimize PostgreSQL schemas, indexing strategies, and query performance for large-scale applications.
• Distributed Systems & Messaging – Implement event-driven architectures using MassTransit, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar.
• Observability & Monitoring – Own logging, monitoring, and alerting using Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Splunk.
• Security & Performance – Implement best practices for authentication, authorization, and secure API development.
• CI/CD & Automation – Own deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions, Docker, and Terraform.
• Troubleshooting & Debugging – Diagnose and resolve complex performance bottlenecks and production issues across cloud environments.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience building scalable, production-grade backend systems in C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core.
• Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) – deploying, debugging, and scaling distributed systems.
• Experience with key .NET libraries, including Entity Framework, MassTransit, Quartz, etc.
• Proficiency in real-time systems – WebSockets, SignalR, HTTP Streaming, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases – query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps & CI/CD pipelines, including Docker, Git, and Terraform.
• Deep understanding of security best practices in cloud environments, API authentication, and data encryption.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and messaging queues – RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar.
• Experience implementing logging, monitoring, and alerting with Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Splunk.
• Ability to write robust, maintainable, and well-tested code (unit, integration, and end-to-end testing).

Bonus Skills

• Experience working with LLMs, AI/ML integrations, or the Semantic Kernel framework.
• Familiarity with vector databases and AI-powered search.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
