About the job

The Benefits Specialist supports the administration of U.S. employee benefit programs and ensures that enrollments, changes, and related benefit activities are processed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines.

This role works closely with insurance carriers and cross-functional internal stakeholders to maintain smooth benefits operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive in follow-through, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and review employee benefit enrollments, terminations, and coverage changes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date benefit records across internal systems and carrier platforms
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure correct benefit setup and payroll deductions
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers to resolve eligibility discrepancies, enrollment issues, and employee/client inquiries
  • Support and execute open enrollment activities, including data validation and issue resolution
  • Review carrier files, eligibility reports, and benefit data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Track outstanding issues and ensure timely follow-through to resolution
  • Maintain clear documentation and organized task-tracking logs
  • Support renewals, new implementations, and benefits-related administrative workflows
  • Escalate time-sensitive issues promptly when necessary
  • Manage, monitor, and triage internal ticket queues to maintain efficient workflow
  • Ensure SLAs for acknowledgment and resolution are consistently met
  • Proactively follow up on open tickets to prevent delays and maintain high client satisfaction
  • Participate in internal meetings to share feedback, identify workflow improvements, and enhance customer service operations

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience in benefits administration, or related roles
  • Experience supporting U.S. employee benefit programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with insurance carriers and benefit platforms preferred
  • Comfortable working with internal ticketing systems and task management tools
  • Proficiency in Excel or similar tools for data validation and reporting
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive follow-through
