About The Role

We’re looking for a Director of Coach Experience to help us build a differentiated and impactful career coaching product centered around operator-trained coaches while closely collaborating with our Product and Design team to build out coaching AI tools.

In this role, you’ll help develop and expand our proprietary coach training programs designed to support and grow our community of coaches. You’ll work closely with our Coaching Team, Product, Design, Customer Success and Operations teams to create a seamless and supportive coach experience. This is a special opportunity to inspire and empower hundreds of new coaches through Mento’s platform and build a best-in-class coach training program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a thought partner and strategic driver of the coaching business by deeply understanding our coaching platform, training, and coach roster and tying them all together to create a marketplace that drives transformation in individuals and organizations.
  • Develop a playbook for the journey of the coach experience at Mento to continuously increase coach efficacy and coach tenure.
  • Identify how & when Learning & Development programs should be offered to coaches to provide coaches the resources they need to grow their skillset, drive results with our members, and feel supported.
  • Iterate and scale coach training programs to help us attract, retain, and grow the world’s top coaches. Increase coach participation in training programs.
  • Facilitate coach training programs for coaches-in-training and Mento coaches alongside our coaching team and be an engaging, informative, and inspiring coach.
  • Provide thought leadership on Mento’s key differentiators, core competencies and methodologyOwn the accreditation process and upkeep for Mento’s coach training program(s).Collaborate with Product and Design to develop new features, tools, and materials that make it easier for members and coaches to get the most out of Mento and Coaching. Ensure Mento’s coaching philosophy and approach are incorporated into our software product.
  • Identify, implement, and measure key initiatives to improve our coach and member experience – identify opportunities and track metrics to assess whether new strategies are creating positive change for our coaches and members and iterate tactics when necessary. Plan, project manage and execute on key initiatives on time with an understanding of business priorities.
  • Be an essential part of the coach recruiting team: Help identify ideal coach personas and create a delightful candidate experience by participating in and providing feedback on our coach recruiting process.
  • Foster Community for our coaches by developing uniquely engaging programs and interactions.
  • Contribute to the growth of our partnerships by understanding our partners goals and how they connect with the coaches working with their members.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an exceptional coach and experienced leader who is communicative, organized, and passionate about our mission to build a career support platform that empowers people to achieve happier, healthier, and more fulfilling careers.

  • You are an ICF-certified coach or have gone through another rigorous coach training program, such as Hudson Coach Certification, CTA, etc. MCC a plus.
  • You embody “coach” through your work and have demonstrated success as a key operator and leader at a tech company, or, better yet, a startup. You know how to manage, lead, and grow individuals and business, and understand the nuances of coaching high performers at tech companies and start-ups because you’ve been there before.
  • You understand the core tenets of learning design and adult learning theory and have experience taking complex topics and making them easy for people to understand, internalize, and integrate.
  • You are able to develop synchronous and asynchronous coach development programs at scale, measuring their efficacy through data and using feedback to make them better.
  • You feel comfortable facilitating small and large group sessions and workshops.
  • You have a growth mindset and are solutions oriented. You can take a critical eye to procedures and processes and suggest changes to make individuals and teams better. Launching, analyzing, and iterating is a core part of your DNA.
  • You are analytical and passionate about using data to storytell and show impact.
  • You work effectively as part of a team, and are able to stay organized across collaborative and solo projects. Stakeholders trust you to hit deadlines. You’ll ask for support when you need it.
  • You get excited about contributing new ideas, designing novel solutions, and experimenting in pursuit of building a product that users love and transform how people navigate their jobs and careers.
  • A plus if you have previously worked cross functionally with a product development organization in some capacity
