AI Engineer Intern
Summary
We're seeking an AI Engineer Intern to join our team and help develop an AI agent that writes high quality and validated GPU kernels in Triton, HIP, and CUDA.
This internship is based in either Gdansk or New York City. Remote work may be possible for the right candidate.
About Makora
Makora is a venture-backed AI lab building building tools to automate algorithm discovery and GPU performance engineering. There are two core components:
MakoraGenerate writes GPU kernels in CUDA, HIP, and Triton using LLMs
MakoraOptimize automatically selects and swaps GPU kernels in combination with tuning inference engine (vLLM, SGlang, etc..) hyperparameters to optimize performance
What You'll Learn & Do
Get hands-on experience working with LLMs and code generation
Learn to develop tools and APIs for AI-assisted GPU kernel generation
Write code in C/C++ and Python under mentorship from senior engineers
Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field
Basic programming experience in Python (C/C++ is a plus)
Enthusiasm for AI/ML and willingness to learn
Nice to Have
Coursework or projects related to machine learning
Basic understanding of GPU architecture and parallel computing
