Fellowship Program Fall 2026
USD 35-35 / hour
About Us
LuminosAI is the embedded oversight layer that lets engineering and product teams ship AI fast - agents, generative AI, the works - without stalling for legal review. Our customers call us their "AI babysitter," the "legal AI within their AI." We're a team of company-builders and former Fortune 500 AI governance leads building the next generation of legal and risk infrastructure for a world moving faster than the law can keep up with.
Position Overview
This Fellowship is for a top-tier law student (or recent grad) with a technical bent who wants to work at the frontier of AI agent oversight and risk evaluation - not read about it after the fact. You'll work directly with senior lawyers and engineers, embedded in the actual work of figuring out how you test, evaluate, and govern systems that are changing every quarter.
If you're excited by law and technology, curious rather than cautious about new tools, and want to help build the evaluation frameworks that will define how AI agents get deployed safely at scale - this is that role.
What You'll Do
- Research and help design rigorous testing and evaluation approaches for generative and agentic AI systems, translating fast-moving legal and regulatory requirements into concrete, testable standards
- Track the global AI regulatory landscape as it evolves in real time and translate it into practical guardrails
- Draft frameworks, workflows, and risk assessments that hold up under real deployment conditions
- Partner closely with our technical team - comfort around code, models, or data is a real asset here
Who You Are
- Currently pursuing a JD (or a recent graduate) from a top law program
- Excellent researcher and writer, comfortable applying existing law to genuinely new situations
- Genuinely enthusiastic about AI and willing to learn the technical details, not just the legal headlines
- Bonus: coding ability, ML/GenAI exposure, or background in privacy, security, or data governance law
Fellows with technical skills who want to spend part of their time working directly with the engineering team are encouraged to do so.
Why Luminos
- Front-row seat to the hardest legal problems in AI, at a company built by people who've done this before (unicorns, law firms, global AI governance programs)
- Direct mentorship from senior legal and technical leadership
- Real impact - your work shapes how our customers actually deploy AI
- $35/hour, remote, part-time, flexible 3–6 month term
How to Apply
Send a cover letter, resume, transcript, and writing sample to careers@luminos.ai with subject line "Application for Luminos.AI Fall 2026 Fellowship." Rolling review, remote interviews.
