As our Human Resource and Business Administration Manager you will lead Lifeforce’s human resources department. Reporting directly to the co-founders, you will be responsible for tasks such as finding and hiring talent, onboarding new team members and ensuring that Lifeforce and its team members comply with company procedures and state and federal regulations. You will also manage payroll and benefits for the company and serve as a resource for employees with questions about those topics. You will be a thought partner to the co-founders around culture, talent, and organizational effectiveness.

Duties and responsibilities (HR):

  • PEO Management & Hygiene
  • Ongoing Labor Compliance & Handbook Management
  • Ensure compliance with all legislations we hire employees in and update company handbook as new laws and regulations are announced
  • Facilitation of Job Offers and Background Checks
  • Manage our Applicant Tracking System (Lever) and ensure good hygiene with applicant profiles
  • Manage and Track Time Off Policies
  • Manage Employee Conflicts, Concerns, and Performance
  • Support New Employees through Onboarding and work with IT to ensure proper systems enablement
  • Coordinate Semi-Annual Performance Reviews in conjunction with Founding Team
  • Manage Unemployment Insurance Filings, keep up on annual filings as needed
  • Facilitate Promotions and Compensation Changes when appropriate
  • Support with Ongoing Recruiting & Hiring across the organization
  • Manage Hourly and Salary Team Member Payroll, including tracking overtime and ensuring accuracy within Payroll
  • Facilitate Employment Verifications as Needed
  • Benefits and Open Enrollment Management
  • Track and ensure proper procedure around Team Equity grants
  • Facilitate Holiday Pay When Appropriate
  • Approve and facilitate employee expense reimbursements
  • Manage Birthdays and Team Moments
  • Manage and Upkeep Company Comms Roadmap & Cadence (All Hands, Leaders, Company Announcements)
  • Manage Company Insurances and ensure timely renewals
  • Coordinate Company Wide and Executive Off-Site Meetings

Duties and responsibilities (Business Admin):

  • Manage Company Accounts Payable Function
  • Manage Company Accounts Receivable Function
  • Manage the distribution of contracts and NDAs to vendors and partners (legal contact)
  • Support Accounting Team with tax documentation and filings

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least three years in HR Operations for an early stage company
  • Preferred experience working in regulated industries (e.g. finance, professional services, healthcare etc.)
  • Preferred experience in talent recruiting or talent operations
  • Prefer to hire someone from the Greater Los Angeles area
