Contribute to Estuary’s Control and Data Planes, building high-performance components that manage distributed state, ensure sub-second latency, and scale to massive throughput (primarily Rust; Go/C/C++ experience welcomed). What You’ll Do:- Architect & build data plane (stream processing/transport) and control plane (orchestration/state mgmt).- Optimize for scale in Rust; minimize latency and maximize efficiency.- Solve distributed problems (fault tolerance, consensus like Raft, high-performance networking).- Ensure correctness with highly tested, production-grade code; collaborate & mentor via design docs and reviews. What We’re Looking For:- 8+ years backend engineering focused on distributed systems/real-time infra.- Systems programming expertise in Rust (or Go/C/C++ with desire to master Rust).- Experience with large-scale systems; strong fundamentals (concurrency, memory, networking).- Clear communication; practical experience valued over formal degree.Bonus: CDC/Kafka/Flink background; open source contributions; startup grit. Why Estuary: Competitive compensation, equity, full benefits; flexible remote; high autonomy; quarterly team offsites.
